It has been quite a journey to our license this week. Since our opening in January we have had six visits from Environmental Health, five visits from Building Inspections, six visits from the Division of Child Development, more than a dozen visits from Orange County Child Care Services, and four visits from the wonderful people who conduct our environmental rating scales. We can't tell you how much we appreciate the expertise of all of these amazing professionals. While it is always the case that it is less stressful when we are not being inspected, we have worked with people who have made the whole experience far more enjoyable and productive. The entire Little School staff has done just a beautiful job working together to bring about this wonderful outcome. We couldn't be more proud of the school or the staff.
We are celebrating our new license at a potluck on Friday, August 6th from 5:00-8:00. We really hope that you will all bring a blanket, some chairs, and a dish to share at this, our first community event of the new year.
We also want to remind you that Wendy Vavrousek will be joining us on Monday, August 2nd. Wendy is our new Program Director and she will be in the classrooms overseeing the teaching team and working with them to help us to better implement the 4 Big Ideas in all of our classrooms. Wendy has been long awaited and we are so excited that she is finally here! You will all see her in the office area when you pick up in the afternoons. We hope that you have a moment to stop by and meet her next week.
